Oxon Hoath Country Estate, Hadlow nr Tonbridge, Kent

As many of you will be aware, there have been two previous UK Crystal Skull Conferences. The first was held in Glastonbury in September 2008 and the second in June 2009 in Kent.

I had no intention of organising either really, but had been encouraged by Joshua Shapiro with his idea of bringing together a UK Crystal Skull Festival. The idea of organising such a big venture did not appeal, but as always I remained open to smaller more manageable possibilities and was guided to offer the first ‘mini’ conference in 2008.

The whole thing came together in less than nine weeks and so was clearly meant to be! We had 65 attendees for this one day event, and as far as we know, everyone had an amazing time listening to speakers, interacting with Crystal Skulls and their guardians as well as enjoying a powerful group meditation and private sessions.

The two day 2009 Kent conference at The Seekers Trust saw a few more wonderful presenters and skull guardians coming together from the USA & Europe. Again, this conference came together pretty quickly, with lots of synchronicities, not least being blessed by having Geshe Lama Ahbay Tulku Rinpoche and friends join us from Tibet. This meant not only did we experience talks, sound healing, private sessions and meditation but also a Puja ceremony each day. (There is a DVD available of this conference, including the Puja. Please email Sharon@mystic-mouse.co.uk if you are interested).

So, with many creative ideas flowing towards the end of last year and the start of this one, I had no intention of organising another conference. I had been guided by ‘them upstairs’ in the early part of the year to run a retreat or two, plus still offer a few workshops. This was to be instead of all the shows I usually work at. With this in mind I set up a retreat straight away in Cornwall to run in May, but I was also drawn to go and view a venue in Kent that I have known about for the last nine years and had always wanted to visit. That venue is Oxon Hoath.

My intention was to view this venue as a place where I could possibly run workshops or a small retreat. Of course, the Crystal Skull Collective had a different idea!

As soon as we got out of the car and stood to admire the beautiful house and 73 acres of parkland, a helicopter appeared from behind the line of trees in the distance with the familiar hum that I have come to know as a personal signal from the Mitchell-Hedges skull. I knew then that there was likely a different agenda and that I had to keep open minded!

So we viewed much of the venue internally as well as taking lunch in the stunning grounds where only the birds and bees could be heard. It was very quickly decided that this could make a perfect venue for a Crystal Skull Conference & Retreat.

The next day I rang Wendy, Gillian and Ross. These are three people you can never get hold of first time trying, but guess what, they all answered! So, I shared my idea and vision, along with potential dates. Wendy’s first words were “I woke up this morning thinking - I wonder if Sharon is going to organise another conference this year?” Ross’s response was also quite spooky!

Within a week the venue was booked, all speakers were confirmed, and around forty people had emailed to say they would like to come, booking forms had been sent to interested parties and four ticket payments were already in. Clearly meant to BE!

So, that’s a bit about how it all came together. Guided and synchronous all the way…
